Introducing a Framework for Arthritis

On September 18, 2012 the Arthritis Alliance of Canada (AAC) released Joint Action on Arthritis: A Framework to Improve Arthritis Prevention and Care in Canada. The Framework establishes research priorities and strategies, identifies principles to guide the design and delivery of care, suggests prevention strategies, and proposes a mechanism for the arthritis community to engage with governments and the broader healthcare community.

The Framework's Priorities

The Framework focuses on three distinct strategies:

  1. Advance knowledge and awareness of arthritis
  2. Identify opportunities and prescribe plans to improve prevention and care
  3. Support ongoing collaboration among stakeholders, government, other chronic disease groups

 



How Can You be Part of the Solution?

The Alliance and its members have taken a leadership role in developing this Framework, but everybody has a role to play. We need the support of all stakeholder groups to ensure we are able to achieve meaningful change. You can help and get involved by:

The Arthritis Alliance of Canada ceased its operations at the end of December 2019. This website will be kept live as an archive of all AAC reports, publications and tools until end of February 2025; however, its content won’t be updated.
